When I try and play this game an error message pops up and says that I need a compatible video card with directx 9 but before I had this monitor I was able to play the game with no problem at all. Not sure why this is happening, I installed the driver and I tested playing the game multiple times and couldn't find a solution. Please help.

I know, Its weird I had the monitor but it wasn't big enough for me and I used hid but there is no hid input for this one and it worked for the other monitor. I have never seen anything like this. Its bugging me.

I guess it's something to do with my display driver or something. Other people have found a solution by re-installing windows but I'm not up for that. If anyone can still help to find a solution, it would be appreciated a lot.

Do you have the old monitor? - if so, try plugging it back in and see if the problem persists...

    What OS are you running?

Did you do anything (download/install anything) around the same time you got the new monitor?

I just can't see how the monitor itself could possibly cause the problem you're having. MAYBE the resolution on your old monitor was low enough so when the game trys to start up with the new monitor, it kinda freaks out...? - that's my only guess, and it's a huge hypothetical - it shouldn't matterRadeon cards aren't my strong suit, but I'd try a clean re-install of the cards driver and DirectX, maybe even reinstalling the game itself (be sure to keep any save files), as well as changing the cards connections - both the new monitor and the card should support DVI (as apposed to VGA).
