Nitro XZ272U Speakers Not Giving output...Do I need audio cable in addition to HDMI?

in Monitors

Audio shows it is receiving but i get no output, the volume is high, not muted, etc. and i have full video, but the audio is not coming out of the monitor. When I plug in various other devices in USB ports I get sound, but the default sound is the monitor and I get nothing. Any help appreciated..i dont get what I'm doing wrong..

    also as far as i can tell all drivers are up to date

    Are you sure this model comes with an internal speaker installed?

    I thought it did, says  Acer's flyer states indeed that it has 2x 3 watt speakers

    Give us the rest of the model numbers. There should be a bunch of letters after the XZ272U that define all the options installed on your unit. Does it have both an audio-in and audio-out port on it, or just an audio-out?
