Hi, i have a low-profile bracket for a Radeon Pro WX 4100 that i just installed, and the card perfectly fits in the AXC-105, however there is no signal, and when i disconnect the GPU, the system POSTs normally. I was hoping to use this in the X3-100 which is faster. What is the expansion slot doing here if i can't even use a GPU with it?

If it were mine and I was really trying to upgrade it rather and replacing the system with something newer, I'd go with a 300W PSU and something like a GTX 1050 or 1650 card in a low profile form factor. Either of those will work much better for GPU performance, but both might be more money than purchasing a newer system… Your X3-100 is something like 10 years old.

Well, the system now suddenly works with the WX 4100! I guess i seated it in wrong or my mini-DP adapter didn't work?

Your PSU is only a 220W, perhaps the Radeon needs more power? IIRC there are third party supplies that fit and give you 300W which should be enough for a lower powered GPU.

I believe it doesn't draw enough to warrant a PSU upgrade. I've used this card in a larger ATX motherboard and it operates normally. I see the GPU spinning up, so i think it's getting enough power.

Enabling legacy CSM didn't work either. The system POSTs. With muscle memory I was able to navigate through the GRUB menu blindly and select my Linux kernel, and I saw hard drive activity lights so It seems to be booting normally... I just can't see it.

If you have enough power on the PCIe bus to run the GPU fans but not enough to initialize the GPU and VRAM you would get those symptoms. The fans are spun up without the GPU boot code running.

Well, if that is the case, do you think picking up a 300W supply will get this GPU working? I would be willing to invest if so.

Do you also think a different GPU would work like an NVS-315

Yes, it is 10 years old now 🎉 I just want to increase the resale value with a new GPU and SSD, maybe a CPU if i am feeling generous. I hope it will work!

Not likely to increase the resale value above the cost of the changes on that old of a system…
