Hey CyberFox, just in addition and to give you some information, as I’ve been using a Nitro 5 laptop for 14 months now, with Win-11 Home and my Nitro has 32GB DDR4-3200MHz (1600Mhz) CL 22 type ram, has 2x PCIe3x4 1TB WD SN750 M.2 drives, and this laptop is a great gaming and overall laptop, its speedy, its very well designed and bullet proof with no problems, that is if you keep this laptops drivers up to date and maintain its OS also!

Also and to answer your question, the Nitro 5 have NO soldered RAM! The Nitro 5 has 2x memory removable slots for ram, if you want to upgrade a new Nitro 5 that came with 1x 8GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 type ram to 16GB total ram. setup then add an additional and the same 1x 8GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 ram module, is to add the exact same spec ram of what is fitted to your laptop, which is an additional 1x 8GB DDR4-3200Mhz CL22 type RAM module, so that you laptop has 2x 8GB RAM modules totalling 16GB, as having 2x RAM muddles makes the laptop memory operate in Dual Channel memory, which is the best and quickest memory setup than 1x 16GB that runs in Single Channel. This also applies to the laptops having a total of 32GB at 2x 16GB or its max memory total of 63GB at 2 32GBN modules.

No, there are 2 DDR4 slots with 1x 8GB DDR4 in slot 1 (removable) and one slot is empty.

32GB is the max. I recommend 2x 16GB, 2666 MHz kit from Crucial.
