To turn off adaptive brightness on an Acer monitor, you can follow these steps:

    1. Locate the monitor's control buttons: On most Acer monitors, the control buttons are located on the front or side of the monitor frame. The specific button names and placement may vary depending on the monitor model.
    2. Access the monitor's menu: Press the menu button on the monitor to access the on-screen display (OSD) menu.
    3. Navigate to the display settings: Use the navigation buttons (usually labeled as up, down, left, and right) to navigate through the OSD menu. Look for a section or submenu related to display or picture settings.
    4. Disable adaptive brightness: Within the display or picture settings submenu, search for an option related to adaptive brightness or dynamic contrast. It may be called "Adaptive Contrast," "Dynamic Contrast," or something similar. Once located, select the option and turn it off.
    5. Save and exit: After disabling adaptive brightness, navigate to the option to save the settings or exit the menu. Select the appropriate option to save the changes and exit the OSD menu.

Note: The steps mentioned above are general instructions, and the exact steps may differ based on your Acer monitor model. If you have the user manual for your specific monitor, referring to it can provide more accurate instructions tailored to your monitor's settings and controls.

I did not see anything in the monitor features about Adaptive Brightness, only ACM: Adaptive Contrast Management.

There is a way in Windows to turn that off. Also turning On or Off Adaptive Brightness in Intel Graphics Control Panel (Option 3 below) may work.

I will download and install intel software and see if that will solve my problem

Yes Intel is the only GPU that I know of with that feature. Also check Quick Access (Acer app.) that has something similar that only works with the power adapter plugged in (Color Intelligence).

Click the ‘Menu’ button at the bottom of your Acer monitor. Hold down the right arrow button until the ‘Reset’ feature is highlighted on the display screen. Note that the reset feature is marked with a big ‘R’ with an arrow pointing to the right. Once highlighted, you’ll see ‘Reset’ displayed in the sub-menu. Press the ‘Menu’ button twice to reset your Acer monitor.

Bring the monitor to Acer Services in your country maybe they have a way to disable that feature or refresh the EEPROM/board. I cannot think of anything else.
