Acer Predator Titon 300 - just over 2 years old

Issue started today, when asleep, laptop will not turn on in response to the usual tap of a key/click of mousepad, when shut off the laptop will not boot up when the power button is tapped.

In both situations, I have to hold down the power button for 30 seconds, and then tap the power button in oder for the blue LED to light and the latop to start up.

Upon booting, laptop seems to run as normal.

Any insight into this issue is appreciated. I am worried the issue is to do with the battery connection to motherboard and may escalate into the laptop not booting up at all.

Thanks!

Which Predator Triton 300 model do you have, as this power on/off problem has got to do with the keyboard power button that is faulty and that is why you need to press this button like you do to turn it on, its not the motherboard as its connected with one cable so its nothing to do with the motherboard. Replace the keyboard as that will fix your problem, search on the web for your specific Predator Triton 300 model number not just Predator Triton 300.

I hope your issue is temporary and won't happen again. In my case (4 year old Aspire5) it started like that last October after I replaced my battery and got worse. I manage it by not using the charger when I boot and not shutting down completely (don't use Fast Startup or normal boot) but hibernate instead. You have to enable Hibernate in the Power Plan (under "Choose what closing the lid does") otherwise the option won't show in Start (Shutdown). I am not saying it is related, just that it is helping me. Disconnecting: plugging in/out the power adapter before booting also helped.

You done good. Happens occasionally even with brand new machines. Like me, you'll now probably be forever worried if this thing is gonna boot up after sleep or shut down. Can be very stressful thinking about if/when it will happen again.

Many times it is indeed a simple connection issue especially during seasonal changes when humidity & temp variations can affect connector contacts. Rather easy to open it up and reseat the connectors a few times to help clean the contacts. I've had two such occurences since last week. In my case, the SSD mainboard connector needed to be reseated each time.

I’m currently experiencing the same issue with my laptop not booting up. It’ll get pass the predator flash screen and sound clip then shut down. It’ll repeat this several times where sometimes it’ll sucessfully boot to windows login and sometimes it won’t. Oddly enough, pressing and holding the windows key after pressing the power button allows it to boot completely. After booting and I release the windows key I get an Acer Power option screen before the laptop promptly shuts down. I tried all of the above and to no avail. So after all of this I used the system image repair disc I made to reload Windows OS. After this everything worked fine for an entire week, no issues before the problem returned. I never turn my laptop off and it always has an internet connection so I can only assume some update took place (Acer related) thats causing this issue. I will try my system repair disc again but keep the internet off and see it it rears it’s ugly head again.

Similar issue for me. Keyboard lights up, and the fans turn on but it doesn't boot. Very annoying

Are you running Windows11 22H2? Microsoft just released update KB5026372 (Build 1702) The update adds more drivers to the database of drivers that are not compatible and that may affect your drivers and booting issues😉

Resetting the BIOS/UEFI settings to default can sometimes resolve persistent startup issues. Access the BIOS/UEFI settings and look for the option to restore default settings or load optimized defaults. Save the changes and restart the laptop to see if it resolves the problem.
