Nitro AN515-52 replacing HDD Win 10 installed. "No Bootable Device" message.

new to me Nitro, i7 8750, 8gb ram, working normal except the slow 1 TB HDD. I put in a known good Samsung 256gb SSD with Win 10 installed. "No Bootable Device" message. I am prompted for an unknown p/w before being allowed to change boot sequence.

Do I just need to clone the original factory HDD onto the desired SSD before it can be used.?

    Cloning is one way, do you need the password to enter the bios and change the boost seq? (ones f2 ones f12 or f10 i think)

    You could also use a differnt machine to install the drive and then transplant it across :)

    holding f2 upon initial power on gets me to the prompt for unknown p/w , I'll try f12 and f10

    this may be relevant: when I swap the original 1TB Toshiba HDD back into the AN515-52 it boots as normal.

    I don't know your Samsung SSD model if this is a 2.5" SATA SSD in the bracket replacing the HDD or a M.2 or PCIe SSD?

    I recently noticed the Windows os on this machine cannot be activated.

    It's new territory for me, but I'm presuming I can put the neccessary AN515-52 set up files onto a replacement ssd prior to putting the drive on the MB?

    after cloning the existing 1TB Toshiba SATA hdd on the desired Samsung SATA SSD, it's working quite well. Other than the Win 10 is not activated. And when I run a cpu benchmark test, my Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 is not detected or being scored. I see it working properly in the device manager, but the benchmark scores an intel uhd for graphics….very low scores. see screenshot

    have you forced it to use the dGPU :)? Userbenchmark uses the inbuilt by default, you need to set it in both graphics propoties and the nvidia control panel

    unfortunately, this Win 11 OS is not activated, so even i don't have admin privileges, it looks like this came from an organization….I tried doing a clean install of an old win 7 disc i have, with key, but that didn't work.
