Why does this happen? I've checked the power settings and I can't find what's causing it. It shouldn't even be going to sleep if it gets unplugged. Also, battery power is going down by one percent per day, even though it's plugged in(always now). Where do I purchase another battery? Thanks!

I have seen 1 year old batteries with dead cells; if a battery was drained to zero charge this can happen. There seems to be an issue with the system files, Paste these commands in the command prompt opened as administrator.

    Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Should complete successfully, then paste this in the same Command Prompt window

    SFC /scannow

SFC may find corrupted files, run again that command till you see "No violations"

This is another way to run that Battery Report (check in c;\ for the report)

    powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html"

    Hi @Jeffnoble14

You fixed the corrupted system files and that is a major step forward. If you want to know what those bad files were you can check that in c:\Windows\logs\CBS/CBS.log, double click on CBS.log and scroll to the bottom (or press end) and those files that were repaired will show before the last SFC run as that will show nothing repaired (all SFC results are chronologically appended in 1 CBS.log).

You want to find out if your battery is good or bad: Either paste the first command that failed before (user account issue)

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

    or the simple form

    powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html"

Double click on the report saved on your Desktop or in C:\

If you want to show the report right click on the opened image and select Print to PDF, save the PDF file and attach it to your reply, if you cannot print with your browser just make screen dumps of al 3 days, What is important is the last full charged capacity if that is half of the designed capacity you have 50% battery wear (1 dead cell).

As I wrote before if the full charge capacity is close to the designed capacity you have to reduce your power consumption and also uninstall that MS ACPI battery driver in Device manager, then reboot (windows will install a new driver)

I am still not getting your replies, please type @Puraw at the top. I will check my notification settings.

BTW when did you last update Windows10; to check your Windows version and build press Windows key + R and type WINVER.

Check your battery if it has this model number  AC011353

    https://www.amazon.com/Synergy-Digital-Compatible-Predator-PH315-51-5/dp/B08Z1FCJQK

BTW you need to update your Windows10 it is from October 2021, the latest is October 2022 22H2.

(If you get a message to upgrade to W11 I would do it).

Run a Windows Battery report to confirm that your battery is bad (probably after 3-4 years of heavy gaming). Paste this in the command prompt:

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

Double click on the report on your Desktop and check Full Charge Capacity (100%) if zero or very low your battery has died. If almost the Design Capacity you need to uninstall the MS ACPI controller in battery device, Device Manager and reboot.

The driver with the red circle.

For context, this is the battery that came with the computer when I ordered it, new, about 18 months ago.

I ran all the commands. Had to run the scan report twice to get no corrupt files. Now what?
