i got a new motherboard for my PO5-615s PC, plugged the hub that acer provides to control the 2 front fans+LED strip. the lights and fans work. its stuck with same colours i had before i switched motherboard but software doesnt seem to recognize the Acer hub. is it only possibly to use and control rgb with Predator Sense?

well your new MB should have its own software to control the fans and lights in the bios or with its own program, BUT predator sense should also work, and your model came with a hub? i have the P05-640-UB11 mine didnt, but its newer 2021-22 model, so yeah ide have to see pictures and tell us what MB you got also will help us help you lol

yes i got a hub with mine, ill attach photos. i got an MSI MPG z490 gaming edge wifi motherboard. i tried msi center, it detected everything except what was connected to the acer hub. i tried every other rgb software under the sun and still nothing. im thinking that MAYBE since its an acer hub, that its somehow locked to only Predator Sense just like you cant tweak things inside an Acer bios (why i changed mb to begin with). and i cant install Predator Sense because it detects my PC is not acer anymore

ok do you need that hub ? if it wont detect it dont use it, i can only assume that MB has enough connections for fans and lights ?

nope, only JRGB 1,2 and JRAINBOW 1,2 which those are only 3 pin headers. but Acer jimmy rigged the rgb with female connectors that go into mini 4 pins that you see plugged in the 1,2 and 3 slot in the hub you see in the pic. even if i dont use the hub. id have to somehow find female to female cables to plug in this mess into only the JRGB 2 in my motherboard

well, you have 3 choices i can think of, call acer and ask for level 2 support, then call msi and see if they know why, or get a splitter-splitters, not sure how many ya would need, from amazon, then ya wont need the hub, i had to get one for my pc to make everything work lol, i didnt know yours was rgb the new ones are argb, and would connect to the msi board np, im thinking of getting a new MB also and have been researching msi ones trying to find the right one, mine came with a H670 MB.

their desktop versions very so much. my 5000 looks like this —— https://imgur.com/a/s6sstuY

its just weird the hub doesnt work and why the rgbs are female to male. everything i see online regarding rgb fans or strips are usually the male into the fan and female for the motherboard. they got this backwards, i dont understand lol.

mine came with an Acer z490 mb. i recommend msi mb. i found mine fairly cheap on ebay for 140$ CAD brand new open box, only used to make sure it works and it works like a charm. check out ebay, lot of good prices there

yes, its the one Acer provides in the Orion 5000 i bought. i was able to change rgb with Predator Sense. but with getting a new motherboard, Predator Sense can no longer be installed and no other rgb software recognizes the hub or the rgb fans so i cant control the rgb anymore

Predator Sense can no longer be installed

Please post a phone photo of the BIOS MAIN tab if possible.

If you have the USB five pin cable connected to an onboard USB header plus power supplied with a SATA power connector to the RGB box then the Acer software should see it and allow control of the three RGB outputs. There should be nothing there that's Acer proprietary that would require the PO5-615s motherboard. Any chance you have the onboard USB port disabled in the BIOS?
