Problems with Swift SF314-42 sound, monitor display, freezing, and brightness control

Hi, I am looking for help and wondering if anybody has had any of the following issues that I am currently experiencing with Acer Swift 3 (Sf314-42):

- Crackly sound with speakers;

- will not recognize monitor connection, will not display screen on a monitor (monitor works with other laptops, it's not the cable or monitor);

- the laptop freezes rather frequently when it never froze before;

- cannot control the screen brightness levels (F3 and F4)

All of these items happened at once, and I am not exactly sure what triggered it. The laptop still works, but these issues have persisted for a few weeks.

Thank you for your suggestions!

    Which OS is installed? Are you still using the original charger? Do the symptoms change if you connect or disconnect the charger? You could try going back to before the last round of updates…

    Your laptop is barely 3 years old and should not have any of these defects. I recommend that you bring/ship the laptop to Acer Services for checking. Make sure you include details of your findings and also send the adapter for checking.

    I understand you say "Crackly sound with speakers, will not recognize monitor connection, will not display screen on a monitor "

    First of all , we need to determine whether it is a hardware or software issue.

    Try windows x
    Go to device manager - Go to sound video and game controllers. Expand it
    Uninstall the sound driver from device manager.  Please uninstall all the items below the sound video and game controllers. Restart the computer. It should work fine..

    If it is still not working
    Uninstall the sound driver from device manager
    Dont restart the computer.
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
    type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers
    Install the sound driver

    Step 2

    Try windows x
    go to device manager
    expand display adapter
    right click on display driver - uninstall
    Restart the computer

    It should work fine..

    If it is still not working
    Uninstall the display adapter from device manager
    Don’t restart the computer.
    Go to support.acer.com
    chose your country
    type snid or chose your model
    go to drivers
    Install the display driver

    It sounds like there may be a hardware or software issue with your Acer Swift 3. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Update the drivers for your sound card and display adapter: Go to the Acer website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest drivers for your sound card and display adapter. Install them and see if the issues are resolved.
    2. Run a virus scan: Sometimes, malware can cause a computer to freeze or behave erratically. Run a virus scan using your antivirus software and see if any threats are detected.
