Good Day Everyone,

I have two questions please

1. I havean Acer Inspire A715-72G-79BH. After windows update, the 1TB internal storage HDD got crashed.

I can see the HDD in boot menu, but whenever I try to install new windows 1, it shows no bootable device found.

Could someone help me, how to fix it?

2.Can I replace that HDD with Samsung EVO SSD 870 as well?

Any help/guideline will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Hammad

Yes you can replace your mechanical HDD with a 2.5" SATA EVO 850 or 870 V-Nand from Samsung. You probably have a corrupted boot sector on your HDD, the drive may still be in top shape, to check your HDD (disconnect the battery cable first) take out the HDD and get a cheap USB external case (or external HDD USB cable) for USB2.0 or 3.01 ports depending what US ports on your PC you are using, connect this external HDD to the correct USB port of another PC, download GSMART (https://gsmartcontrol.shaduri.dev/) or similar freeware that can check external HDDs. You can then also transfer your personal files to that PC and reformat the HDD in case you decide to bring your laptop to Acer Services for reinstalling firmware, Acer's drivers and latest OEM Windows for a smalll fee ($25) or free when under warranty.
