Hi,

Can anybody please advise me on how to remove my NVME from the Safe Remove Hardware and Eject Media option? It is permanently in my laptop.

I have checked the policies including Write Cache Policy Enable Write caching on the device and restarted the device.

I have also selected Quick Removal in an attempt to remove it from this menu and when I restart it just reverts back to Better Performance (default).

This is Windows 10 Home.

Thanks.

  • I too have had this problem. It might be related to the nvme driver. What is the exact model of the ssd?

The problem seems to be ongoing for me. From my extensive research, and, after attempting many solutions, including a reset, a hardware change, it seems to me to be an issue with bios mis-identifying it as an SCSI drive.

It's either that OR the AMD SATA controllers need updating - which no software, including linux, acknowledges...

Initially, I thought it was an ahci issue but my bios v1.12. indicates that this setting is correct.

I also tried to change the driver policy on the nvme but the driver policy will not change, no matter how many times I try to change it.

It's not an isolated Windows 10 issue, I know that much.

  • What is the exact model ssd? It is possible that the manufacturer has provided a driver for the ssd.
