Hi @JediMaster first try to hold down the power button until it turns off and turn on again and see if it accesses Windows normally.
Before the problem, did I make any changes or updates?
Please tell me the exact model of the equipment and the version of the operating system.
    Thank you.
    All the best.

    Assuming you are on Windows10-11?

Try to force 3 shutdowns each time by pressing the power key (keep it depressed till system shuts down completely). Start (boot) again till the Acer logo and repeat this shutdown process 2-3 times. Windows blue screen will now pop up with "Repair" mode, don't repair but move to "Restart">Safe Mode>F4 or4 and once in Safe Mode you can find out what program is causing the freezing/hangs (probably a GPU driver). Or you can type in the Command Prompt: rstrui.exe to restore your system.

I did not make any changes or updates and I do not know the model number. Where do I find it?

Create a new installation USB, download the ISO from Microsoft and start an installation, right on the first screen, when it finishes loading the procedure, you will see the repair option, repair the startup.

I would unplug the unit and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

    If that doesn't work

Then unplug and I would try to reset the CMOS with the unit unplugged from AC and possibly leave it sit unplugged overnight. Good Luck.

The fan starts running when its starting but then it stops when it is running on the ACER logo screen.

But were you able to get to the repair option?
If you were able to get there, try again but do not repair, continue with the installation and at the first reboot remove the USB and reboot the system (do not put the USB back and let the computer reboot itself), this should correct the boot.

Turn the computer on and off by forcing it to shut down three times, the third time you will get a recovery screen.
Click on "see advanced repair options"
    Solve problems
    advanced options
    Symbol of the system

    Once in "Command Prompt" type:

    bcdedit /export C:\bcdbackup

    enter

    attrib C:\boot\bcd -h -r -s

    enter

    ren C:\boot\bcd bcd.old

    enter

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

    enter

Wait for the operation to complete and type "exit" and close the command window, reboot.
