TravelMate P215-53G (TMP215-53G-74QN) doesn't start on battery after Bios update

I have a few TravelMate P215-53G, I updated the Bios on one of them, model TMP215-53G-74QN, from 1.42 to version 1.47. Now my PC doesn't start when it's on battery, but everything is fine when plugged! The blue light on the right blinks 5 times (more or less one blink per second, 5 times) and nothing more. Can somebody help me to fix it? Thanks!

    Hi,

You could try a battery reset, switch off the laptop, disconnect from mains, follow the instructions in the video, leave the laptop to rest for 15 Minutes, reconnect AC adapter and fully charge the battery and see whether it helps.

If that doesn't help, go to BIOS screen and move to Main tab, press F9 button followed by F10 to save&exit.

    Hi @vecanetti

If the pin battery reset method above does not work, check the battery condition by creating a Battery report in Windows (assuming you have Windows10-11). Type or paste the following in the Command Prompt:

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

Open the file on your Desktop (double click) and compare the Full Charged Capacity with the Designed Capacity, if too low you need a new battery ($50).

It worked with the battery reset! Indeed, I'm a bit surprised, because I already tryed to do a battery reset, but probably I didn't wait enough to restart the PC! Thanks.

Battery indeed is still pretty good 41Wh after 22 months of intense usage (unfortunately almost always plugged), when it was 53Wh when it was new.

    Thank you for your advices!
