Bought an Acer Aspire 3 (A315-43-R721) Laptop from Amazon.De, and shipped to Malta in the Eu. For the first couple of months it worked flawlessly, indeed the best computer I've ever used. A week ago it started freezing up completely,, and as time went on it did it more and more frequently, up to a point where it can barely boot up. Tried a Pen Drive with Linux and checking the BIOS to no avail, it would freeze after a minute or two. Ocassionally some graphical glitches would be displayed on screen right before stopping.

Contacted Amazon who in turn told me it was best to deal with Acer directly, but added they would intervene if Acer didn't offer a solution in two working days. I also contacted Acer who did not reply up until now.

I have the following questions; any recommendations on how to deal with both Acer and Amazon? Anything I should be weary off? The laptop is brand new, barely three months old, so i definitely wouldn't want them to take ages to repair it and send it back looking like trash. Any tips and/or recommendations on sendin it back to Acer in Germany? Even though I live in Malta, (where the laptop was shipped to) I think I'll be asked to send it back to Germany, as it was bought from Amazon, specifically Acer's store within. Still have the original box and all, and will send it with insurance but any additional recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all.

Tried a Pen Drive with Linux

What was the original factory-installed operating system if any? What's it running now?

The laptop came with Windows 11, haven't changed it. Tried bootng from a Pendrive with a live distro of Linux directly, without installing it and froze up too, no difference, just like in Windows. Again, even simply accessing the BIOS will also freeze it up after a couple of minutes. Also tried a pendrive with memtest but it also freezes up barely after starting, before showing any errors. The pendrive with linux works fine on my other laptops and computers as does the one with memtest.

    Thanks for your help

Booten Win11.

Boot to Win11 normally. Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near top of next pane. Scroll down and uncheck box for fast startup. Save. Then shut down Win11 normally again. Wait a few moments. Then turn it back on and IMMEDIATELY start tapping the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. Please post phone photos of BIOS INFORMATION & MAIN tabs if possible

Again, thank you for your help. Will try changing the Powerbutton in Windows 11 per your suggestion, and if it is still freezing up, and malfunctioning, will send a photo of the BIOS screen.
