Old 2012 Aspire 5820TG Laptop - BIOS accidently set to disable the monitor and I now need BIOS

Whilst fault finding a display resolution issue I inadvertantly set the BIOS to disable the display. I now have a blank screen that can NOT be turned on. I have disconneceted the BIOS battery for several days and that has done nothing. What is the step by step process to reset the BIOS to factory settings via a USB memory stick? I have already downloaded the relevant DOS and Windows executable files from the ACER website.

The bios can be restored with a Crisis Utility USB, if that doesn’t work then you need to reprogram the bios chip (or get a new programmed bios chip and replace the old bios chip) the programing tool is the CH341A Programmer tool that you need experience and the right software to do reprogram the bios chip with.

Below is the basic notices from Acer about the bios flash utility, you need a guide to make the (see here) Crisis Recovery USB and use the 5820TG last bios Date: 2016/09/07 bios Version:1.25 and Titled: 1. Improves S3 long run when use one Micron ram module. If that doesn’t work then you need to use the CH341A Programmer which you need experience to reprogram the bios physically.

Note: All the methods above needs an experienced tech or user to do, DO NOT attempt to do these bios recoveries or programming if you have no experience as you will brick your bios chip and laptop, I take no responsibility if you do this wrong!

    Thanks Steven,

I'll give it go. It looks pretty straightforward. I'm more than happy with the disclaimer :-)
