I have an Acer TravelMate 6595TG. The original battery worned out so I replaced it with a new one but the laptop keeps blinking amber battery light whether plugged in or not….and doesn't charge the new battery….I bought another replacement but same issue. It uses all the battery power but doesn't recharge it…I heard that it has bios embedded whitelist for batteries. I cannot find the original replacement code of the battery in the market which AS10D5E. The one i am getting from the market is AS10D31…. What should i do now? I am in no position to be changing my laptop and i really need battery power. The original battery isn't repairable either. Is there any way i can edit the bios image and remove that white list so that every battery of the same physical structure charges? PLEASE HELP!

I got my laptop checked from many good repair shops and they said the laptop is fine there's nothing wrong with circuitry and the AC adapter….it's just something else that they can't figure out. Did google search found a forum with another identical model (8573TG) with same problem but no solution….

Acer shows two batteries for that model, a 6 cell BT.00605.073 and a 9 cell BT.00903.013. It's possible the battery you bought went bad sitting on the shelf for so many years, I doubt if they are building new batteries for it still, after all the model is something like 12 years old… There shouldn't be any white list in the BIOS, they want the fexibility to purchase batteries from multiple vendors when they do a laptop design, so it wouldn't be cost effective to design and implement that type of modification to the BIOS.
