Well I have Nitro AN515-57 and I want to connect my phone's earphone into my laptop's 3.5mm audio jack. But the problem is, my earphone works like the output device is found, but on the input device, means my mic does not get found and it uses the webcam mic (microphone array is displayed). Same case with my headphones. I tried every thing possible. One thing I noticed was when I went into device manager and clicked on "show hidden devices" I could see 3 microphone devices. But the problem was it says the device is not connected rather it was. And showed microphone array connected( the webcam one) how should I fix this?

You need a telephone type microphone/headset with a single OMTP jack type connector or one of the larger classics with a USB connector.

  • Hi @Vik_95 Do you have it set as a headset? if this is so, the microphone should work automatically.

  • Make sure of the type of connector since your equipment is of the OMTP type, I leave you an image with the differences:

Well I'm using my phone's earphones not headset. But there's another problem with headset too. My headset has 2 cables, one for mic and one for audio. But this laptop has -1- 3.5mm port. I had to use splitter. But when I use the splitter, my audio gets reversed like the sound coming from right is coming from left and vice versa. How do I fix that then?

I have tried almost 5 splitters and every splitter has the same thing so I guess its not the splitter which is broken. And when I just plug in my headset and dont plug my mic, the audio works perfect. How is it so

  • There are no guarantees that a splitter will work.

The input admits a 3.5 OMTP type jack, so the micro-headphone must have that type of connector:

Plug in your phone's earphone, the computer prompts you “which device did you plug in”, select “headset”.

Lightly tap your earphone's mic, if the “mic array” signal meter jumps, then you are using your earphone's mic. It is not a separate item.
