I was using my mousepad one second and the next it doesn't work. I made sure it wasn't disable function key. I also uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them.

  • Hi,

Could you please post the full model name of your laptop, like PH3xx-xx.

The model is Predator Helios 300 PH315-52. I also found another post that recommended restarting the battery and it seemed like it worked but after using it on my bed again it seems like it stopped working again.

Try these steps. Maybe they can help.

    • Restart the laptop: Restarting the laptop is a simple but effective step that can resolve many software-related issues.
    • Update the touchpad drivers:
    • a. Go to the Acer website and search for your laptop model to find the latest touchpad drivers.
    • b. Download and install the latest drivers, following the installation instructions carefully.
    • c. Restart the laptop after the installation is complete.
    • Disable and re-enable the touchpad in the device manager:
    • a. Press the Windows key + X and select "Device Manager" from the list.
    • b. Find "Mice and other pointing devices" and expand it.
    • c. Right-click on the touchpad and select "Disable."
    • d. After a few seconds, right-click on the touchpad again and select "Enable."
    • e. Restart the laptop to see if the touchpad is now working.
    • Check the touchpad settings in the control panel:
    • a. Press the Windows key + X and select "Control Panel."
    • b. Select "Mouse" and go to the "Touchpad" tab.
    • c. Ensure that the touchpad is enabled and that there are no settings that could be causing the issue, such as disabling tap-to-click or adjusting the sensitivity.
    • Try an external mouse:
    • a. Connect an external mouse to the laptop using a USB cable.
    • b. Check if the cursor moves using the external mouse.
    • c. If the cursor moves using the external mouse, it is likely a touchpad issue.
    • Replace the touchpad: If none of the above steps work, the touchpad may be damaged and need to be replaced. This is a technical process that should be performed by a professional.
    • Thanks

So I tried out more things and it seems like a battery problem, when ever I use my laptop unplugged it seems like I can use my mousepad for a bit before it stops working. It doesn't start working again if I plug it back in but it does start working if i restart my battery.
