Iconia w510 sleep problem when microSD card is installed

Hi guys,

last week I bought Acer Iconia w510 tablet. So far works OK, except some flakiness in the touchpad on the keyboard/dock.

But I noticed one problem with the microSD card. If I install microSD card - it works fine. However if I let the tablet go to sleep with the microSD card installed, sometimes it freezes on resume and I have to reset.

Seems to be a driver issue with the built-in SD card reader, but the tablet is new and there are no driver updates published on the Acer site so far.

Does anybody seen about this problem?

With best regards

Tony

    Tony,

We are not aware of any issues related to the microSD card and resume from sleep.

Can you please provide us with the brand, type, and capacity of the microSD card you are using?

    Hi,

Just want to add, there are also updated drivers available on the Acer Support website for W510. Please download the "W510 Driver Package". Unzip the contents and run the setup. You will need to have the machine on charge. This will update drivers and update unit to the latest BIOS.

    Thanks

Have the same problem, tried with 32GB sandisk and 64GB sandisk ultra, but the same problem. Win8 sees them but when docking or undocking the card disappears and only reset will bring it back. All win updates installed and Acer driverpack.. With sporadic use of the sdcard my 32GB tablet is useless since thats the only way you can upgrade hdd space on it. Even Android found a way.. Come on Acer or Microsoft which ever is to blame. Just in case the argument would be the cards, both installed fine on my pc and my SGS3 phone and no problem there.

Got hold of another unit, works fine with both cards, so mine are going back to the store for a new one.

I have the same problem! Is there a fix?

I updated to the latest bios/drivers (6/2013), but my microSD constantly seems to not recognize my sd card after a sleep. Very annoying.

Will removing and replacing the card bring it back ? If so it would sound like the USB is removing everything when undocking.
