I have a new Acer V3 Notebook. Trying to register I unable to get past the requirement to copy a series of letters into an empty box to prove I am human.

I must be doing something really stupid as straight copying doesn't work. I wonder if some letters need to be in bold type or even in a different type face or at different spacings? I am new to Windows.

Please help

Thanks

Normally you just type the letters/numbers that you see with no spaces.  Order and upper/lower case are important.  Bold, fonts etc are not crucial.

You're not doing anything stupid, Jonrob. Acer NEVER uses the letter "O" in its serial numbers. Those "O"s you see with the other letters are actually the number zero.

Valid point, however, I believe that Jon is referring to a security code (type the letters and numbers that you see) to demonstrate that he is human and not a computer.
