Nitro 5 laptop FPS NIGHTMARE - I CAN NO LONGER PLAY MY STEAM GAMES

Hi guys,

I'm posting this out of desperation as I feel that I've tried virtually every possible solution to rectify my low FPS issue.

Background: I have a Nitro 5 laptop which I use only to play a few STEAM games. It has been flawless for a year with no significant issues. The only time I have experienced lagging in a game is when I haven't had the power cable connected.

Suddenly, on the evening of January 1st, my Arma Reforger game started lagging as did my Ready or Not game and they are now unplayable.

I have tried/done the following, with no success:

*Re-set laptop multiple times.

*Ensured I am running latest NVIDEA graphics driver and Windows 11

*Ensured high performance options are selected in terms of battery plan and via NVIDEA control panel etc.

*Reinstalled STEAM and relevant games multiple times.

*Checked integrity of game files

*Disabled any background processes that might be causing low FPS

*Cleaned fans although cooling doesn't seem to be an issue.

*Defragmented disc drives etc.

*Checked for bugs

I could go on an on...I just don't understand why all of a sudden, I am having this problem. I haven't played properly since the 1st of January as a result. I'm not technically minded but have spent hours and hours trying different solutions.

To give an example of what I experience,

When I load Arma Reforger or Ready or Not, most of the time, the frame rate is fine at first - over 100 and sometimes more than 200fps. As soon as I go beyond the initial screen into the game to start playing, the FPS drops immediately and makes it unplayable.

I'm desperate now - Acer has advised they can't help with third party software. My problem is that I don't know if STEAM is the issue or something in the laptop itself.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could take some time to guide me towards a fix - I will happily work through any possible solutions and provide the information that might be needed.

Thanks in advance,

Marty

I'm currently running Driver Booster and performing relevant updates as I've just read this in another potential fix thread.

Now hovering at around 50fps in game. It starts at over 100 but as soon as I enter the Arma Reforger server it drops to around 50fps.

What are normal fan temps in game?

Currently CPU is 87 degrees at 7% and GPU 79 degrees at 28% with fans on full.

    Minimal gaming time overall.

To give an example of what's happening right now in Arma Reforger - FPS is over 160 whilst I'm browsing the servers - as soon as I go into one, it decreases immediately to 60 or less. Temps seem fine at this moment. Why would it drop so suddenly?
