Hi guys,

my notebook reports 91% full baterry. If I disconnect cable of charger then notebook is switched off. If notebook is connected to charger then baterry is not charged to 100%.

Battery control light on right side is red with connected charger when PC is off.

Battery control light on right side is red with connected charger when PC is on and Windows running.

Looks like battery is not able to recharge to 100% and it is possibility that it is empty because if I disconnect charger cable then PC is switched off.

Please, can you give me idea how can I fix for myself without sending to service?

Thanks in advance

Unplug the charger , than look at the back of the laptop and you can find a small pin hole. Than get a paper clip and put it inside the paperclip and press and hold it for 30 second. The pin hole is shown in the below picture.

Than connect the charger and check.

Thanks for idea, it did not help. I tried it yesterday and today again.

The notebook reports 91% but when I disconnect charger then it is switched off. It is unable to recharge to 100%. The battery light is amber (orange).

I ran from Power Shell command powercfg /batteryreport , see attached report.

Please, if you have any other idea, let me know. Thank you

    Hi @rastos ,

try to update your Bios first. You can download from acer website or with "Windows Update -> Optional Updates" . Than you could try to calibrate your battery in "Acer Care Center".

    Hi @roblib ,

thanks for idea. I updated BIOS. I started battery callibration process in "Acer Care Center" in the evening , running the whole night and in the morning it was still running. Look suspicious that it should not run such long time.

I accidentally clicked YES as response for Did this answer the question? I am not able to revert it back.

I'll ask the moderators to remove the solution marked in error. It sounds like either the battery has failed or it has gotten really confused as to the internal stats. The battery reset really should be done with the full procedure, disconnect everything (including the charger) with the system shut down then press and hold the button for 15-30 seconds. Release the button and wait at least long enough to finish a cup of coffee, then reattach the charger only. Wait until you get the battery full indication and only then try turning it back on. If you still have the failure then it pretty much has to be a bad battery.
