Predator Helios 300: Has anyone successfully installed 64GB RAM? (PH317-55 71YX)
I had 32GB (2x16GB) of RAM installed and purchased two new sticks:
(Crucial 64GB 2 x 32GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL22 SO-DIMM Memory Kit CT2K32G4SFD832A).
Installed fine and booted fine. Memtest86 shows no errors. Everything seems to work fine, however I occasionally get a random BSOD (bugcheck) associated with Memory Corruption (One Bit or other errors). I used WinDbg Preview from the MS Store to view the Memory Dump files after each BSOD.
Does this sound like I have a bad stick? I could buy another stick and swap it with either of the sticks and by process of elimination see if the problem goes away. However this is probably a waste of money.
Or is this happening because the BIOS/board do not support 64GB RAM even though BIOS recognizes it and Windows boots fine?
Is it likely that there will be a BIOS update that will support 64GB?

according to the service guide it should be OK
Supports memory size per socket 4GB/8GB/16GB/32GB
Supports maximum memory size 64GB
Supports DIMM type SODIMM
Supports DIMM Speed DDR4 3200 MT/S
Support DIMM voltage 1.2V
However on the tested table, it was only verified up to 2X16GB sticks, which doesnt help! If possible i would try for another stick as theres no reason it shouldnt work

Wow! I don't know about your MAX RAM but you sure have a LOT of storage space! Nice! 👍

Okay I have purchased another 2 x 32GB RAM upgrade kit. Same specs (Crucial DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL22 1.2V), but this time from a nearby brick-and-mortar shop (Microcenter).
Just installed and everything seems to work fine. I will report back later to see if there are anymore random Blue Screens. The previous RAM was purchased online so it could be that I got a bad stick...Keeping fingers crossed.
Thanks mate! It's ridiculous how cheap storage has become!

It has been nearly a week since I installed a new set of RAM sticks -- NO CRASHES!
I sent back my original 2x32GB DDR4 SODIMMs purchased online, and am hoping for a full refund. In conclusion the PH317-55-71YX does accept 64GB of RAM as mentioned by @Leostat.
For anyone else who may experience very random and intermittent BSODs due to RAM failure, below is a list of some of the errors I was getting. I was able to see the blue screen error by reviewing the crash dump files using WinDbg which is free from MS.
I experienced approximately 15-20 BSODs over 3-4 weeks immediately following my RAM upgrade. The computer had been completely stable prior to that. Most of the time I wasn't at the computer when the crash happened but would discover later that the computer had rebooted (I only caught the BSOD three times and barely had a chance to read the error before it rebooted).
Memory Management Blue Screens:
Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart...
memory management
BSOD stop code is 0x0000001A
Shows up in Event Viewer as "Bugcheck"
Using WinDbg these are the Error messages or modules responsible:
Memory Corruption (One Bit)
ntfsisfilestillvalid
Ntfs.SYS
igdkmd64.SYS
Obviously the failing program could be any program stored in RAM so other than the "One Bit" error and the timeline of BSODs after upgrade could I conclude that it was a bad RAM stick. The proof was purchasing yet another set (costly experiment) and seeing if the problem went away, and indeed it did. Cheers!

Well done Atreides and thank you for this very important information, as its very helpful for all users to know about this very contentious and important ram upgrade, as Acer does not have any information on the ram specs for the 64GB (2x32GB DDR4) specs max ram capacity, as they only have info for the 32GB (2x16GB DDR4-3200MHz) like I've included below from the PH317-55 SG. Also do you get 3200MHz speed in Task Manager like my AN515-56 below which only had 16GB but has the i7-11370H and the RTX3050 with an 1TB SN750 Black PCIe 3x4 SSD:

Yes I do get the 3200MHz speed in task manager. Here's a screencap:
