The problem with cloning Windows from a hard drive to an SSD in Acer Aspire A515-51g

Try using dragging the partitions method, it might adjust the space because you are cloning a larger drive to a smaller drive(1TB to 250GB).

Whats the state of the VSC service? Im wondering if it cant make the shadow copy and its trying to read the nonexistant copy

t is worth checking if the console tool can create it , first command will list any issues, the second will try to create a backup :)

vssadmin list writers

vssadmin create shadow /for=c: 

Doh my bad, that only works on servers, its WMIC for non server, its either

wmic shadowcopy call create Volume='C:\'

Or if WMIC isnt installed

powershell.exe -Command (gwmi -list win32_shadowcopy).Create('C:\','ClientAccessible')

If this works, it may be a check the event log jobby :), have a look in the event log see if anyting stands out as odd , easy way is to trigger it to fail to make one in the app, then open the event log and click though them
