I just bought a new Acer laptop. I’ve spent over an hour trying to register my computer, but Acer’s website won’t let me. Numerous links that state “register your product” are broken on Acer’s website. If you click product registration on the left side bar, the bottom of the page, or within various support articles, or on your profile - nothing works. Each link states “Opps - The page you're looking for can't be found.”

I see others have the same problem, but all of Acer’s responses have been to sign up for ACER ID. I did so and this does not work either. I’ve tried different browsers as well. I don’t mean to come across rude but this very frustrating. This is the first time I’ve ever bought any electronic product that would not allow me to register for the warranty. Please advise.

I'll escalate to the moderators. They may have insight into what's going on with the site. Which locale are you in and are you using their site, or the generic USA version?

    Thank you for your response.

I am using the United States as my location. Initially, there was a landing page with different countries worldwide and I selected the United States. This is the url I used to sign up with AcerID: https://www.acer.com/us-en/whats-acer-id. I have used other urls which had the option "register your product" on their pages but none worked. I appreciate you forwarding my message to the moderators. Thanks again.

FYI: Just tested the app and I must confirm the comments here:

I also get the message " system (temporary) unavailable" (here in German):

And when I "take the usual way":

About 4 weeks ago the link was working fine. I tested it because a user in Germany asked, how to register a product:

    kind regards

    Jochen

    Hello,

Thank you everybody for your responses and all of your help! I finally was able to get to the screen Jochen posted to register the laptop, but an error message came up stating the product had already been registered. I tried both the serial number and the SNID, and neither worked. I bought the computer new and sealed from Tanga. It's beginning to look like I'm out of luck.

It is possible that @Acer-Ingrid was able to get it registered to you when contacting the appropriate people. Does it show up in your list of products?

    Thanks billsey for your response.

I don't think it was registered by anyone who is part of Acer -I tried again and the error message still insist it has already been registered. Also, nothing is showing up under my profile or my list of products. I am very uncomfortable not being able to register this laptop, and I can't think of any rational explanation for this. I give up - I'm about to have surgery and just can no longer deal with this problem. I just hope I have no problems with it

Thanks everybody for your effort to help.

    Hello @dart80,

Thank you for your reply. I am so sorry for the issues you're encountering. When the unit was first set up, was it done by someone else or are there any other emails that could have been used to register your product? I sent you private a message with some instructions if there are no other emails, please check your inbox at your convenience.

    Best Regards,

    Acer-Ingrid
