OK. That likely means it did not install. Now try to install driver from this SynapticsLink.

1. Right click and uninstall the TouchPad driver in Device Manager.
2. Then exit Device Manager without re-installing anything.
3. Then open Control Panel.
4. Search 'button'
5. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane.
6. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'.
7. Scroll down and make sure fast boot is Uncheked. Save setting.
8. Then shutdown Windows normally. Wait a minute or so.
9. Then turn machine back on and let Windows automatically re-detect the touchpad and automatically re- install the driver.

Do you mean that it can't start the touchpad but it does in fact recognize the touchpad?

Right click the i2C hid device. Choose properties. Click power management tab if present. Uncheck box to allow computer disable device to save power

OK. Open Device Manager again. Expand Mice and other pointing devices folder. How many pointing devices do you see?

Does it disappear when you unplug the USB mouse?

Does anything happen to the i2C device in Device Manager when you press FN+F7 or F7?

If nothing happens, shut down Windows normally. Wait a mininute or so. Then turn the machine on and immediately tap F2 key to enter BIOS menu. Please post a phone photo of BIOS MAIN tab if possible.

Change the touchpad option from advanced to basic. Then press F10 to save basic touchpad setting and exit BIOS menu. What happens then?

Does the Mice and other pointing devices folder still have only one entry?
