Inspite of the fact having been using latest bios version 1.28 for many months, after some clean install of windows, wifi can not be activated and windows trobleshooter says use a function key to activate the wifi which refers the source of the problem: The Bios. Now, I have downgraded the Bios to 1.24 and wifi connection is avaliable again. Despite that, windows update downloads latest version and wifi connection goes again and rarely, somehow comes back at any system start. What should I do then, any ideas?

What do you mean by clean install? Was it the Acer OEM Win10 version from the hidden factory recovery partition? Or the Microsoft generic Win10 version using the USB media creation tool? They are not the same. The OEM version is meant for your proprietary Acer mainboard.

Thanks for answer. Clean install by Win11 bootable usb with ISO image. Windows is constantly active due to OEM version. I also presume that I have solved the issue with downgrading Win10 and deactivate windows upgrade for once which made the Insyde Firmware section of the update droped to optinal upgrade category. However, the Win11 directly upgraded (I have not tried the same way which I did with Win10) the bios which anyhow induce wifi problem. Actually, latest version of bios was quite stable but all of a sudden ,after not powered the computer for weeks, wifi did started to not working with Windows. I have installed linux/ubuntu and have not seen any wifi issue with it by the way.

What you mean by this? The Acer OEM version was the original factory installation that should've worked flawlessly out of the box.

Because you already tried installing Win11 from the iso, the hidden OEM ACER Win10 recovery partition is probably no longer accessible. Since Acer has not yet released Win11 drivers, I suggest that you use the generic Win10 iso and install the Acer Wn10 drivers at this link. If it still doesn't seem to work reliably, then I suggest that you download and install iobit's Driver Booster freeware to see if it can pick up any drivers on line that will work better with the non-Acer Win10 version.

Thanks for the answer. Acer OEM Win10 recovery partition has been deleted for a very long time. I have encountered no problems with the absence of the Acer Recovery partition for many months. As I have claimed, the problem started suddenly and was only solved by downgrading the firmware version. Another interesting glitch was that, despite setting a password to every disk from bios, I somehow could access the password protected disk from Windows without entering any password (with the 1.28 firmware). I also have the bios restored very early, from the very detailed optional section where I enabled the ability to downgrade the version. I absolutely have tried Acer Win drivers, but as the problem signifies "function key error," it has to be about the bios.  I can't even change the Windows activation to Windows Education because the license is OEM verified and embedded on the main board. I believe I have solved the problem for the time being; thank you for your consideration.

Firmware can certainly have bugs. If you haven't tried so already, press Ctrl+S in the BIOS Main tab to see if a Function key behavior option is available.
