Acer Spin 5 issue with wacom AES Stylus

Hi I have a Acer Spin 5 that comes with a wacom AES stylus which initially works well. After a few months, the stylus doesn't detect well. Two issues:

a. it doesn't detect quick strokes so I'm forced to write very slowly

b. I can't seem to find the battery level of the stylus.

    Which Spin 5 model do you have? It should be something like SP5xx-xxx-xxxx and the full model is usually shown on the same sticker as the serial number. Does your model have the stylus docked in the side? That is supposed to handle charging and the battery should last close to the life of the laptop. It's possible though that the stylus battery is actually failing and that would require a replacement...

    Yes the stylus is docked at the side. Perhaps when I use it, I'm mostly using the stylus so it has no chance to charge. But even after I leave it for a few hours in the dock to charge, I still experience the same issue. The writing detects fine, just that if I write too quickly, the second stroke won't be captured.

    Then we can likely assume it's not the battery charge, though over time the battery will eventually be expected to fail. Just not this quick... Now we need to look at what is going on in the background, there may be an app that's taking up enough resources to hinder the pen signals.

    I doubt it's any background apps as I have only my inbox and Zoom open (Zoom is where I'm using the pen actually).

  • Did this problem start after some windows update?
