I have the yellow triangle on device manager for acer inc.system firmware 1.10

It says restart required and (CODE14) i have tried resetting but still the same, i have reset my computer (saving files) but still there.

Ive not been able to update to windows 11 yet.

I created a extra partition as it said 100mb (efi system Healthy) not enough but i cant join them to make it 200mb so i now have 2 100mb partitions.

Im in need of some actual help from ppeople that know what they are doing rather than me trying stuff ive googled.

Any help very much appreciated.

  • Hi! First enter the exact model. Example SF315-52-5890. Second, updating the bios by downloading the file from the acer website or through windows update is very risky. Do you really need to update the bios? About your question, try uninstalling and deleting the driver, see:

Then restart windows and go to optional updates to download the bios driver:

It is important to note that the update is risky and I am not responsible for any damage.

    Thanks alot for the advice,

    I have a SF513-54N

I was worried that by uninstalling the driver or disabling it i may "brick" the computer which is the last thing i want.

The only reason for updating the bios is to get windows 11 as it keeps saying im not eligable even though windows health check says i am eligable- i can only think its because of the firmware error as everything else seems to be running fine.

    Thanks

  • The risk exists only when windows update tries to update this driver.

Unfortunately no luck, it looks like the efi system needs to be 200mb but is only 100mb and i have seen its a common fault with this laptop, but it looks like only paid software will resize the partitions?

  • What is the error that appears when trying to install windows 11? Are tpm and secureboot enabled in the bios?

Are you sure it's not a SP513-54N? I don't find a SF513-54N model. Typically when there's an issue with the EFI partition size it is that it has those fonts installed on it. Mount the partition the delete the fonts, then unmount. The BIOS update should be able to finish then.

Sorry I didn't get back quick enough, things got busy here at home and I let the forums slide for a couple of days. Glad you got it done, I don't know where the font issue comes from, but the 100MB partition size is correct for just about any UEFI system.

Hi, could you share what you did to delete fonts, please? Thanks in advance. I have the same problem as yours with updating for Firmware 1.10
