My daughter's Spin 3 has developed an issue. When the lid is closed, it goes to sleep fine, but now on several occasions when my daughter wakes up, her Spin3 is blazing hot and appears locked up with black screen. We've tried the power reset pinhole - no use. We have to remove all the screws and physically disconnect the battery connector. The heat pipe/CPU begin to cool instantly, and by the time we get the battery reconnected and the screws back in, the laptop is fine, powers on, and works.
We have made sure the fan path is clear of any debris. But it's not like the fans even come on during the night, at least not that she's reported.
This is obviously a fire risk.
We've no idea the cause or what to do.
Thoughts?
