Acer Aspire Drops Wireless

I have a 2-1/2 year old Aspire 5745-7247 that loses its connection to my home wireless network several times a day.

The WAP sits a foot away and is always accessible from my wireless Android devices.

The Aspire is always ON -- no sleeping or hibernating as far as I can tell.

I get the message that it is connected to the SSID network but is "LIMITED". And of course it cannot access the Internet.

How do I troubleshoot this?

Thanks.

Can you be more specific? How do I check them? What am I looking for?

    Thanks.

I got the same problem as you. The router is in my room and the laptop is in the kitchen. 1 wall apart, not that fare away. And I always have full bars. I thought it was my router so I got a new Netgear N600 Dual Band. I'm wondering if it's the 2.4GHZ channel doing this. But then I use my iPod Touch 5G and I can use the wifi in my backyard and garage no problem. The router is brand new and my other devices don't have this issue so it must be the laptops wifi. I'm at the point I want to buy a USB adapter, but I'm reading that the laptops wifi card is normally better then any USB adapters.

need to download drivers from acer site and unzipp and use enclosed wizard setup over microsofts.

I actually installed an update from Windows Updates. It was from 2009 wireless fix. Seems to have fixed the issues so fare, it's been a few days no problems.
