I even tried changing batteries. The issue was solved but just for a little while. It's back again now and my laptop does not turn on without a charger. I use my laptop for hours, can't have it on charge all the time. I tried pressing the battery power reset at the bottom of the laptop and restarted my laptop again, it's still not fixed. Please help me find a solution.

My Laptop is Aspire A515-52G.

    (1) Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu.

    (2) Right click command prompt near top of menu.

    (3) Click run as administrator.

    (4) Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport' at command prompt.

    (5) Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.

    (6) Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser.

    (7) Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

On Sept 19th your battery seems to have been allowed to drop below the critical 5% charge level. It may not be recoverable. Try this. With the laptop shut off and plugged in, wait for the battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue. This may take up to 24 hours if the critcally discharged battery is recoverable. If it doesn't turn steady blue then within 24 hours then it may not be recoverable.

Actually, as soon as I put it on charge, it's already blue.

P.S. If it's not recoverable then what should be done?

    Thank you!

I guess 3 or 4 weeks ago. Not sure about the details of what battery it is. I can let you know if you want to know about it.

Just post the first part of the battery report on this forum thread. That has all the details needed. Don't post it in a private message as it will only delay response.

Let me know if anything else is needed and when can this issue be solved? If it can be solved in the first place. Thank you for your time.

UPDATE: Now. it says the laptop is fully charged and the battery charge LED is blinking red. What can be done? Please acknowledge the issue. Thank you very much.

Sorry no. A blinking red/orange battery charge LED indicates a critically low charge or dead, not full charge. The top portion of battery report that you posted suggests the battery that's in there now is completely dead & unrecoverable. Is this a new battery?

Hello. Can you you help me too please? I have the same problem. Battery stuck at zero and laptop doesn't work unless my laptop is connected to the wall via the AC adapter. If i take it off it will immidiately shut itself off. If you try to turn it on while the AC adapter is not connected my laptop will wait till i connect it then turns on on it's own I have taken the picture of the report page that you told the other guy to take. Also i should say that everything was fine until i decided to clean the inside of the laptop a bit. I completely removed the fan and with a cloth that is a little soaked i cleaned the motherboard and the top of the battery( I'm pretty sure no amount of water reached the battery connectors ) unfortunately i did all that while not removing the battery. Also i didn't use alcohol. After all that i turned on the laptop everything worked fine except the issue with the battery that i mentioned.

you made a mistake while cleaning the motherboard with a wet cloth. you should have only blow it with a air flow.

now, the only thing that come to my mind is to disassembly the laptop cover and blow it with compressed air and also check for the battery connectors, maybe you have a loose connector.

Pull the tape off the battery connector and unplug it. Then place the laptop with cover off in a warm dry place for about 24 hrs. So any moisture remaining on connectors or any other charging circuits on the mainboard have a chance to dry out Then button it back up and try it again.
