I have a Acer Aspire R15 and the right hinge popped and has been splitting the screen every time that I open and close the laptop. It has gotten to the point when the case on the top half starts to un clamp on the bottom from the right to left side.  I have had this issue a few months ago and sent it in for repairs and now the same thing is happening again. I don't want to keep paying to have the hinge fixed every few months. Has anyone had this become a repetitive problem for them as well?

I have a similar problem, My Aspire un clamps on the bottom from the left to right side.  I seems that it would take about 1 month from sending it out to be repaired to get it back.  Now, during COVID19 I can't do without my computer for that long.  I would appreciate your letting me know how much the repair cost.  Is there any home repair?  Thanks.

I went into Staples and described my problem.  They told me that they only fix software problems, viruses, etc.  I asked if they knew about the Geek Squad at Best Buy.  Staples told me that the Geek Squad does not work on my type of problem either.  Drea 1224, where did you get your computer fixed?  If it was a local shop, I might have some luck locally once the local shops re-open.  Our stores are closed until the beginning of June, but that is only 3 weeks away.

Hi! I use an Aspire 3, and that also seems to be the problem with mine. Will this be covered in my warranty even if it's been over a year? I've been really careful with all my things, so it worries me that this happened. I don't want to this issue to come to a point that my screen will completely be separated on the bottom. So far there's only a gap on the bottom left of my screen that's connected to the hinge. May I ask where I can repair my laptop? Will it happen again after the first repair?

I have the same problem on my R15... I have used strong glue and then scraped it out and replaced the glue two more times. I use plastic covered c clips along the seams while the glue is drying. So far the screen still works fine... Now the keyboard cover at the left hinge is separating. The small screw which is supposed to hold it together has disappeared. As far as I can tell there are no electronics near the hinge so I will probably try a super strong contact glue and clamp. I have searched on these Acer problems as well as drifting touchpad cursors... but I have seen no solutions or repairs that Acer does for hinge problems OR drifting cursor... Otherwise I love my R15. JackBlack... Any Thoughts? From Acer?
