From complete discharge ? Will running or shut down ? Only thing I can think of is that they needed to throttle back the charge rate to prevent an overtemp.

    From complete discharge, yes.

Running, but it is faster when I try to charge it shutted down (aprox. half time).

    Thanks for reply Padgett!!

I have the same problem. I haven't done any BIOS (will technically it is not BIOS but UEFI) yet, only Windows updates.

At 30% battery cappacity, I plugged it in. Under BatteryBar it shows charging rate is about 700mW. I rebooted the device, and it increased to 2200mW (i.e. 2.2W). Even at this rate, it takes over 7 hours to charge from 30% to 100%, and if it started at zero, it would be over 10 years. Before the reboot, it says it will take 24 hours to charge. I monitored it for a short while (15 mins), b/c sometimes charging will ramp up from a slow one, to be on the safe side, but it hasn't.

I am now shutting it down to charge.

According to this reivew, it only takes 2 hours to charge: http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/07/acer-iconia-w3-review/ , so why did the OP and I have such a big difference?

    Yeah.

That´s the point much better explained, thanks for that!!

Shutted down it charges faster but I don´t measure that yet.

Will do for the next charge!!

When you say "shutted down", do you mean pressing the on/off button?
