Acer Aspire E5-575T Bad Wifi/Broken Wlan Antenna

Hi, I have a Acer Aspire E5-575T-58WH and there seems to be a problem with the wifi connection. When the laptop is right next to the router (in the living room), the wifi connection is fine, but if I move it to any other room, the connection drops exponentially and eventually disconnects altogether, I believe the issue is the antenna as the black antenna wire seems a bit stretched out,but not detached (probably when the broken hinges were replaced).The laptop is running on a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 wireless network adapter and the driver version is 12.0.0.448. Is there any way to know for sure if the antenna is the issue? (the wifi works fine via ethernet or when right next to the router)

In this case you will have to search in places in your region and country.
Remembering that a faster, more accessible and simple way would be to acquire a wireless USB adapter.

As for the external option, there is only the fact of occupying a USB slot and the final speed is limited to USB (ideally 3.0).
Otherwise chaos, the internal antenna has more advantages.

Already tested on other routers?
Which channel is your router set to?
Does the problem only occur on the battery or plugged into the power outlet as well?
Is the wireless pal set up for maximum performance in power options?

it does the same on other routers,
not sure what the router channel is set to,
the issue occurs both on battery and plugged in,
and the wireless is at max performance (both on battery and plugged in)

Check the router for which channel and seven for 1, 6, or 11.

Update: I have found that both the main and aux antenna's are stretched out the point where the wire inside the insulation has snapped so the next question is, where can I find a 21" and 31" set of antenna's for a Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA435 without breaking the bank? (maybe around $20 max including shipping)

would you recommend using a usb antenna over the internal? because this is going to be one of my primary laptops and it would also take up a usb slot (but the the internal antenna's seem to be really hard to get a hold of as they are too ridiculously expensive or not long enough)

Hi,

I have the same problem with my (admittedly old) Aspire S5. Windows diagnostic points to a bad signal and my other devices work fine. The problem has been increasing in the last months and I managed my laptop in such a way as to keep the connection open, lately full on 24-7. I used to be able to re-establish the connection in a way that it looked like a Windows problem; poking around and it would suddently connect. It pointed to a hardware problem.

Lately the signal strength icon was showing weaker than it should be.

I did buy a usb wifi gismo that presumably has its own antenna and the problem is the same with it. It's a small dongle, so maybe not.

Windows diagnostic give the signal strengths of surrounding wifis (mine and neighbors) and my router's is comparatively weak. If there was an antenna problem, I think other networks a larger distance away shouldn't be detected, don't you think?

The wireless card works fine according to windows.

I'm at a loss here. Any ideas?

So weird... The wifi connexion finally established itself without any further intervention from me. I had a visitor and we both sat near my laptop facing each other each on our side of the table, more or less. I guess that was a modification of the electromagnetic environment, because after a couple of hours I noticed the connexion was on. Did i say weird?

I can't say the problem is solved, only that for some reason it has resumed working...
