Hello,
can anyone provide working firmware for the Touchpad:
Synaptics TMP2970 (920-002755-07Rev1) (photo attached)
- The original FW has been overwritten/broken by an non-professional intervention, is it possible to upload the original ?
- I really need Firmware not Driver
- Instructions on how to install the FW would be useful
Info about NTB Acer Aspire ES1-531-P960
(attached photo)
Thank you very much for any idea and answer.

Hi,
There are no separate Firmware for Synaptics Touchpad, you have yellow triangle warning sign for Synaptics Touchpad and it means that the Touchpad missing driver, have you tried installing the driver from Acer Support site? If not, download and install the driver from the link below.
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/6061?b=1
First of all, thank you for your reply.
The touchpad worked before, but after trying to update the Touchpad FW it stopped working. So the problem is not in the Driver.
There is currently an old driver installed on the NTB that used to work.
The yellow exclamation mark is there after a failed FW update, windows cannot find the correct driver (none) the device (touchpad) is not visible
I couldn't find any Firmware from Acer Support page, I may be wrong but I haven't heard of FW for Touchpad, sorry my friend, I have no idea but please wait for someone else with more experience will respond to your question.
Thank you for your efforts.
FW exists but probably for a different Touchpad model

BIOS/Firmware section (8)
> Firmware - Improve touchpad performance (Date: 2016/07/06, Version: 1.17)
You have the latest version of BIOS(V1.22) that means it has been included already, if you install V1.17 your system may become unstable or inoperable, so I wouldn't take that risk.
this is not an update for the bios but for the Touchpad.
That's fine, but please wait for someone with more experience to respond.
OK.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, this is not the solution. The FW (1.17) cannot be installed probably the FW is designed for a different type of MB ?
I'm not sure. Now when you change the touchpad to basic does the problem continue?
BIOS is set to BASIC all the time, the problem persists.
I really think the touchpad FW needs to be played.
Really no one has solved the same problem ? Does this mean I have to buy a "new" touchpad ?
OK! So what happens when you change the touchpad to advanced?
Nothing at all, touchpad still doesn't work doesn't respond to touch or squeeze.
😓
The touchpad worked before, but after trying to update the Touchpad FW it stopped working.
Can you post the link to the website where you downloaded the firmware?
The only way is to remove the chip and rewrite the firmware with an e2prom recorder.
Yes I think that is the only option, hence the only solution, buy a used touchpad somewhere.
Thanks for your answers, we can lock now.
