Is there anything I need to do after adding ram? here's before
after,
for some reason it's running at a lower speed
I asked the question to see if it was compatible, someone told me to look for one rated at a lower speed
before and after
I didn't do anything outside of inserting the ram in

It sounds more like the memory you got isn't the memory you ordered. The link you give is to 3200MHz memory without the need for XMP. If they sent you XMP memory instead then it would act as you are seeing, running the whole system at it's base speed, which seems to be 2400MHz.

could there be a bios update or something? i never touched it ever since i bought it like 1-2 years ago
They both look fine, they have matching specs, could you please try swapping to different slots, different combinations etc, they run at different timings even though they both have CL=22.

what do you mean by swapping slots? swapping the new ram and the old ram's spots? or swapping both of the new ram's spots
Take out the old RAM modules, install new modules and see whether they are running at 2933MHz, then mix one module with the old RAM and check the speeds, try the combinations in different slots.
