Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-45) software out of date?

To put in simple terms, I recently brought DOOM Eternal and found that a common error that happens every time I open the game is that no GPU is found (see this tread here for details https://steamcommunity.com/app/782330/discussions/0/1867245431037208955/), so upon every system restart, i have to disable the integrated graphics, launch the game, tab out and reenable them, which is obviously workable but not desirable. The issue seems to be the Pre-installed Radeon software is outdated and many on the thread are simply saying to download the latest Adrenaline software from the AMD website, but then that webpage specifies that;

"Important Note for Laptop and All-In-One (AIO) PCs: AMD recommends OEM-provided drivers which are customized and validated for their system-specific features and optimizations. If you experience issues using the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver package downloaded from AMD.com, please install the OEM-provided drivers for full support and compatibility."

My current Radeon software shows that its ver 10.20.40028.0, whilst the latest on the AMD website is 22.5.1. should I use this https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-131 (AMD software auto-detect and installer) to see if i can just install the latest versions of the software and drivers?

I'm only asking because I've had terrible experience with radeon software in the past bricking my laptop and requiring fresh windows installs. I was wondering if anyone has had this experience before and if its safe to try this fix.

    With all graphics drivers be they NVidia or AMD graphics drivers, you should always completely uninstall the previous and old drivers before installing the new drivers, use the DUU Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.5.4 and uninstall the AMD graphics/audio drivers first and then install the new AMD graphics drives for your laptop.

    I don't know which OS you are running but, the AN515-45 can run Win-10 and 11. The AN515-45 should have all the OS drivers and the following new Acer drivers up to date for your laptop to run properly especially if you run Win-11:

    1. Go to the AN515-45 Acer Drivers & Manuals site that has a new AMD VGA Driver for your laptop, which is Date: 2022/08/12, Version: 27.20.14032.15001 for the AN515-45.
    2. Install the last bios titled: 1. Enable Win11 SV2 Support, Date: 2022/09/06 Version: 1.10 which installs compatibility for the soon to be released Win-11 version 22H2 update called Sun Valley 2 update and also includes a previous bios update called “1.Update NV QBoost Setting. 2.Update AMD PI code. 3.Update new Panel ID. Date: 2021/05/12 Version: 1.06" which the Combo PI is a kind of main container that includes aspects such as VBIOS for the APU, SMU, PSP or ABL and where some data from AGESA itself is also included. and should be installed to make your laptop function properly.

    I don't know how you bricked your laptop with a graphics driver update, unless you flashed the VBIOS with a wrong flash version? As you should only VBIOS flash any Acer graphics with ONLY a VBIOS flash that Acer provides! Its very strange that you say ..."I'm only asking because I've had terrible experience with radeon software in the past bricking my laptop and requiring fresh windows installs" how did you do that? As a laptop or PC works properly only if you have all the appropriate drivers up to date and also its bios is appropriately up to date.

    Note: read the AMD info on their driver's updates, as the page that you refer to above the "Get Drivers with AMD Auto-Detect and Install Tool" explains it clearly to all users and says this..."AMD Auto-detect and Install tool is available on AMD Drivers and Support and regularly updated to support the latest AMD Software Package releases. It is recommended to download the latest version from AMD Drivers and Support then" so do that as that will appropriately download the exact graphics, chipset drivers that your laptop needs. I don't know what you did to

    thank you for the advice, I've updated the Drivers you linked, plus updated the BIOS and have still received the same error. I guess it was worth updating regardless though for performance/security etc. But I'm kinda amazed the drivers still have this issue, maybe I should submit a bug report to Acer/AMD because I've literally selected the preferred processor to be the "High Performance NVIDEA Processor" in the NVIDEA control panel but I'm assuming it's somehow still trying to use the integrated graphics?

    BTW, that previous bricking of my old laptop was this old dell latitude with a AMD GPU, and everytime i'd try to install the Radeon software from the radeon website (as oppose to the drivers from Dell), the installer would freeze on installation and Windows 10 would freeze on bootup, apparently because of amdkmpfd.sys. I'm just kinda weary installing any other software outside of the system integrator due to that bad experience.

    I thought I'd ask here if anyone had tried the solution on the steam thread, about using the "AMD Radeon adrenalin software (Auto-Detect and Install Updates for Radeon™ Graphics and Ryzen™ Chipset Drivers for Windows®)" found here https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/rsx-install. Because the guy had an ASUS TUF and not a Nitro 5, I was wondering if anyone else had tested this solution, just in case i end up bricking this new laptop.
