Hi I have Acer nitro 5 AN515-56  it has dual Nvme M2 the first slot has wd 512gb which is running full speed. But the second Nvme slot is running at half speed. Does the second slot use 2 or 4 lanes. I’ve checked on Hwinfo ,Bus but the Nvme are not listed anywhere?

    Hi,

Yes, the second slot has 2 lanes enabled.

The PCIe 3 lanes are as described above by brummyfan2. In HWINFO64 look in Drives > NVMe Drives as on most of the OEM Nitro 5 AN515-56 the boot M.2 drive is a 512GB drive of type WDC PC SN530 SDBPNPZ-512G-1114 so click on that and if you have a secondary M.2 in other slot 2 on your AN515-56 then click on that (as it will be shown in HWINO64) to find its specs like below.

Then go to the right top part at "Host Controller: Intel Tiger Lake - Volume Management Device (VMD) NVMe RAID Controller" then click on "Intel Tiger Lake – Volume Management Device (VDM) NVMe RAID Controller" as that will guide you to the Features and tell you all the PCI Express which the WDC PC SN530 SDBPNPZ-512G-1114 M.2 specs are these, as I've got an AN515-56 and this is the info I get for the OEM boot drive:

This is the HWINFO64 AN515-56 boot M.2 drive the WDC PC SN530 SDBPNPZ-512G-1114 partial specs :

Thank you for your quick responses. This is what I thought. So if I put my second nvme in slot one, Samsung 980 pro I should get speeds of 3500 . As I’m getting speeds of 1748 in slot 2 at the moment.
