Hello everyone!
I have a Swift SF314-41G-R157, with serial no. NXHFHSG0109xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I've heard that there is one free RAM slot and one free M.2 PCIe slot available within the laptop. I've also heard that installing new RAM or SSDs with capacities that exceed the manufacturer's recommended limits could cause risks or compatibility issues.
I'm slightly curious as to what these risks/compatibility issues exactly entail. Does some part of my laptop's system not support these capacities? Will installing higher capacities of RAM/SSD (say, 16GB instead of 4GB or 1TB instead of 512GB) risk causing instability? If so, why?
I'm also looking into upgrading these components. Do the benefits of having more RAM or disk space outweigh the risks that such high capacities impose on my laptop? Are there any datasheets/recommendation documents I should have on hand?
I look forward to your response. Thanks a lot!
