ALSO: One USB3 port does not power down during hibernation like the others. Even when all USB devices in Device Manager are set to let the computer power down the device.

    When is this error occuring?

The USB 3.0 port next to the HDMI port on the left side of the unit does not power down, it allows you to charge USB devices while the system is in sleep or in a powered down state.  The icon for the port is: Power Off USB

    Thanks for replying.

Error seems to occur more than every second: video: http://sdrv.ms/1cGbhvN

Even if the USB is supposed to power on during hibernation, it would be nice with a control to switch it off so it doesn´t waste the battery during night.

I'm going to suggest first that you return the system to factory defaults with the Acer Recovery program. Then see if you are continuing to get these errors.

If they continue, you will want to contact your local Acer technical support.

Can´t really see what the OS got to do with it, since it´s the BIOS. Beside since you clarified the USB power function and that has nothing to do with it, it´s probably nothing.

And if no one else with bios v2.06 find the same error in their system log it´s probably not the bios.

Maybe you should also clarify your information on BIOS downloads then:

    Acer BIOS                                                         2.01 3.9 MB 2013/05/20
Acer BIOS - UEFI for Windows 8 (Not for Upgrades) 2.05 3.9 MB 2013/06/13

BIOS on this R7 was upgraded to v2.06 but shortly afterwards that version was apparently removed from Acer Driver Downloads. It must have been unstable. (Fx link)

But according to customer service "It is not possible to Downgrade the BIOS Version from 2.06 to 2.01 or 2.05."

So what is that BIOS version 2.01 download there for? Was there a Windows 7 version?

Of course the later v2.06 is also a Windows 7 version else it wouldn´t support Legacy boot which it does. Question was just: If v2.01 does not support UEFI boot on GPT formatted drives, then it doesn´t support Windows 8. And if v2.01 only supports Windows 7, where´s the drivers.

Funny the BIOS version 2.06 is still there. It´s just when you search drivers for Aspire R7 and click BIOS then it displays the "latest" drivers and present v2.01 and v2.05. But when you then click "all" drivers it also displays v2.06! Guess the javascript running the show doesn´t distinguish between versions, so it hides the last download with same date as previous. (see ex. video)

So if you got v2.05 you don´t get the latest by pressing "latest", you have to press "all" to get the v2.06.

It would be nice with info on what the upgrades mean.

Anybody watching this thread should know there is a new BIOS version (Acer BIOS 2.08 3.9 MB 2013/08/12) available for download!
