Multi Gestures/Gestures not working on my touch pad Acer Aspire 5 514-54

Dear Acer Community,

I just bought Acer Aspire 5 slim 514-54 with i3 11th gen, Ram 8 GB and SSD 512 GB, with Win 11 Home edition. Everything work fine until I found that my touch pad has no ability for multi gesture and other gestures, no pinch in nor out.

I really think for this series the touch pad should have this facility, I've check the BIOS ver 1.28 only show enable/disable option, I have check my device management on mice only show PS2 mouse hardware, it doesn't have any synaptic nor Elan mouse.

My questions are, is my touch pad come from ACER only a basic touch pad in term of hardware or is this just a matter of driver issue which is not solved by ACER and Windows 11?

Can you help me to solve this so the gestures can work in my laptop, FYI, the touch pad is working perfectly only for basic movement, right click and left click.

Thank you

Tap F2 again on startup to enter the BIOS menu. Go to BIOS Main tab but press Ctrl+S to reveal more hidden touchpad options to enable gestures.

😮SUPERB!!! 😍Many Thanks to JackE, it works, with Ctrl +S it reveals the options with touchpad, and it allow us to choose I2C or PS2 mode.

With PS2 mode, the touch pad become traditional mouse, with I2C mode it brings the windows precision mode.

I also check on device manager and it shows that the "mice" is on I2C HID device with driver year 2006.

Just wondering should I check for a new driver? although with this driver everything works fine, and all the options in the setting with the touchpad are available in complete manner.

INCREDIBLE, I mean, I even brought this new laptop to ACER service center to have it checked yet the technician cannot find the solution and state that Acer Aspire 5 A514-54 comes with traditional touch pad, meh🙄.

    Thank You to this community.

Once again Thanks, it really works, I just curious why the Bios comes with default PS2 mice mode, why it didn't come with I2C mode?

Congratulations. Thanks for reporting back on your success. The WinXP era mouse driver is correct!!! Don't try to change it. The HID drivers build or depend on that old 2006 driver still being there. 🙂
