Hi all,

I have searched a lot of places for the answer to the following issue.

Win 10 Device manager shows up Base System Device error three times.

Vendor = 197B = JMicron

The device is number is 2384 on all three instances.

Can anybody help by directing me to a website that has a suitable driver?

Many thanks for any help.

John

iobit's Driver Booster has been around for years and is a fine driver tool and highly rated by many ranking organization. There are a few other freeware driver tools that have spotless records as well.

What problem is it causing? For older laptops like this one, it's best to downloard and install driver tools freeware like iobit's Driver Booster freeware to see if it can pick up any drivers that can remove the error even if it doesn't seem to be affecting the machine.

    JackE Thanks for the reply.

I can't see a problem at present, but I believe it's to do with the card reader,

I just wanted to have a clean machine after a new install of Window10.

I've been weary of all singing dancing driver solutions as I've been caught

out before with suspect software, but after checking out your suggestion

it seems legit, so I might give it go.

Which OS are you running on it? 32bit or 64bit? Can you show us what the hardware IDs are for the Device Manager entries? That system came originally with Vista 32bit for the 2GB versions and Vista 64bit for the 4GB versions IIRC...

    Hi Billsey,

    I'm running Win10, and taking JackE's advice I used Iobit's Driver Booster

in trial mode, and on the second attempt it cleared the problem, but thank

    you for your interest.
