I have a Helios 300 PH315-52 and the battery will only charge when the laptop is turned off. Has anyone else come across this issue? Thanks.

    (1) Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu.
    (2) Right click command prompt near top of menu.
    (3) Click run as administrator.
    (4) Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport' at command prompt.
    (5) Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.
    (6) Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser.
    (7) Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

Open Device Manager. Expand batteries folder. Right click and uninstall all drivers that you find in this folder. Then exit Device Manager without reinstalling anything. Shut down Windows normally. Wait a  minute or two, then turn it back on and let Windows automatically reinstall fresh copies of the battery drivers.

Just as an addition info for you, this is how Acxer advises users to reset either the EC battery or the RTC bios on your PH315-52, this is for your laptops official Acer SG:

If the above actions don't work then check the charger adaptor or your battery or the chargers for you laptop. If those components are not faulty then its an internal mobo power issue that could be coming from the mobos primary power circuits like a shorted or burned out mosat, capacitor, resistor, fuse etc etc that is stopping the charging process and a user like you can't fix and/or diagnose these problems. Its best that you either send or take your laptop to your local Acer or to a local experienced technician that has all the tools and experience with PC circuitries who can fix your issues. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    OEM Chargers are:
    • Chicony (180W) A180A034P
    • Delta (180W) ADP180TBF
    OEM Batteries are:
    • Battery SIMPLO AP18E Polymer 4S1P Coslight 4 cell 3720mAh Main COMMON - Acer part #: KT.00407.007
    • LGC AP18E Polymer 4S1P LGC 4 cell 3574mAh Main COMMON - Acer part #: KT.0040G.013

  • Have you tried uninstalling the ac adapter and battery drivers in device manager?
