My main concern is to run/install Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS). Or should I pick Acer TravelMate P2 with Intel CPU?

This is the first time am purchasing an Acer TravelMate P2 Laptop so I don't know anything about it.

Laptop: AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U] Acer TravelMate P2 TMP214-41-R6C3 14 Inches FHD IPS Business Laptop with Windows 10 Professional

Part No : NX.VRDSG.001

AMD should be fine. Intel CPUs are sometimes set up for Intel's proprietary RST or VMD disk control which must be changed to AHCI to accomodate dual booting which can be a bit more of a hassle.

    Thanks JackE.

Do you recommend other similar priced laptop for Linux?

Depends if you need pre-installed WinPro vs WinHome

Is WinPro or WinHome important? Mostly on Ubuntu. Only reason to use Windows if somehow Ubuntu fails.

All I need is a laptop without wireless driver issues during fresh install of Ubuntu. <-- This is my only requirement.

At least 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. Looking at good deals at 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

Previous laptop had no driver for broadcom wireless driver preloaded in the Ubuntu.

    Is Travelmate P2 reliable?

No more & no less reliable than any other series. The Aspire A514 series with nearly equivalent specs and pre-installed WinHome would probably be cheaper. You might find a vendor offering a submodel  from one of these series that you like better. Also, choose you distro carefully because some are much better than others in having drivers for devices that are primarily used in a Windows environment.

Tap F2 on startup to enter BIOS menu. Post a phone photo of the first screen if possible so we can set the full model number and other properties that might affect dual booting.

The newest laptop models seem to always have a lag before any of the Linux distros support them fully. You are often better off to buy last years model if you want to run Linux as your primary OS. Ubuntu will likely mostly work, but it might be a few months before everything is working right...

Will update once I collect the laptop.

For Linux distro - deciding between Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Pop!OS 22.04 (have not used this but seems to have nvidia drivers preloaded into the ISO)

    The problematic usb

    - Using Rufus and install Ubuntu 22.04 as MBR partition -> failed to load usb in F12 boot menu

    - Using Rufus and install Ubuntu 22.04 as GPT partition -> failed to load usb in F12 boot menu

I used another usb and was able to load usb in F12 boot menu.

    - Disabled "Fast Boot"

    - Disabled "Secure Boot"

    - Enabled "Boot Menu"

    - Forgotten how was the usb written.
