    Hi,
Could you please tell us the driver version you are trying to install, is it from Acer Support site?

Acer hasn't yet released drivers for Windows 11 and the Predator PH517-51 models.

    Hi,
Yes, you have to use Windows 10 drivers at the moment, so I would suggest you go to Device Manager, expand Sounds and uninstall the driver, reboot and let Windows install the driver and see whether it brings back the Sound.

You are unclear on your answers.

Which of the driver installation gave you blue screen? 8485 or the waves. How did you install it?

You should install using the setup.exe (or whatever the installer name is).

Then go to microsoft update catalog and download this cab file, open it, copy/paste all files into brand new folders and then device manager update your driver under sound video and game controllers by pointing to the newly created pasted folder.

But the things is i tried installing both of the drivers

In device manager realtek audio dosent even showup , so i try adding legacy hardware then it blue screens and sometimes (as i have tried many time to fix this ) blue screen comes on installing any of the mentioned audio drivers

I understand that you are facing issues with audio

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

What is the make and model number of your PC?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Uninstall and reinstall audio drivers

Please create a restore point before uninstalling and reinstalling drivers

Note: Restoring your PC won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

Follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall audio drivers

Search for Device Manager in Windows search box
In Device Manager, expand Audio inputs and outputs and then right click on the adapter, and then select Properties.
Select the Driver tab, and then select Uninstall Device. Select the check box for Delete the driver software for this device, and then select OK.
Once the driver is uninstalled, please download and install the audio drivers from the PC manufacturer’s website

If those options did not work, try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows.

    Method 2: Install generic drivers

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.
Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.
Right-click the name your sound card or audio device, then select Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Select the audio device for the driver you want to update select  Next, and then follow the instructions to install it.

If audio device is used by another application, you may try clean boot

    Clean boot

Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer. However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.

We appreciate your interest towards Windows 11

for method 1 no driver shows up
for method 2 when I try to install the generic or realtek audio from add a legacy hardware (can't update driver as it doesn't showup)
