Hi,

I have just purchased a new Acer Swift 3x SF314-510G 14¨ laptop. Overall I am very happy with it, however when it comes to the sound quality/how high the volume is on maximum settings I am extremely disappointed. Even with maximum settings the laptop can only be used in quiet environments since the volume is so low. I have tried to adjust the audio settings and updating the driver. I downloaded the latest one from Acer`s website: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/8619?b=1. I use Windows 11 and I literally tried changing all the settings and troubleshoot audio issues but nothing helped...

I saw on some other threads that some other users were complaining about low audio issues in case of different Acer models. Is it a general Acer "issue" and we just have to live with it, or is there any way the volume can be louder on the laptop?

Any help is much appreciated!

Hello! Thanks for your advice. I checked it and changed it to the value as shown on your screenshot, but it did not help unfortunately Do you have any other suggestion that I may try to fix this issue?
  • Try reinstalling windows, pressing alt+f10 before the acer logo.

Thanks! I reinstalled windows but it did not help unfortunately...

I was doing some more research online, tried different drivers but nothing... I have also noticed that I am missing the "Enhancement" tab from the volume settings. It seems to be an issue in some cases and I tried everything to restore it: i followed all the online instructions, with driver updates and other settings modifications, but nothing... Do you perhaps have an idea how to get the "Enhancement" tab back? With that it should be possible to increase the volume I believe.

Also what is really irritating is that when I download an extra audio manager app like FXsound for example I can increase the volume, but it is extremely annoying as you need to open it every time you launch windows... So it seems that the laptop speakers can be louder but for some reason with the current driver settings and configuration it is not possible... Is there any other updated driver from Realtek or any other driver that works better with Acer laptops?

I have also tried with an external app for driver updates called Driver fix but it did not fix the problem either. It finds some outdated audio drivers but it is unable to install the updates... That makes me think that I have some major issues with my current setup which is very strange as it is a brand new laptop and I have just reinstalled windows yesterday...

Any other suggestions? Cause this issue is really really annoying... Volume is on max and I barely can listen to anything through the laptop speakers...

    Thanks!

Thanks! Yes, I have tried that as well. I have installed both drivers, but nothing, they did not help... And I still do not see the Enhancement tab... Any other idea? Thanks!

Try, in sound settings, to change to each output offered and verify each is set to 100%.

Yes, I have done that as well. I ended up downloading another audio driver called FX sound. With this it is possible to enhance the volume settings and the loudspeakers are much louder. It is just a bit annoying that I need a different program for this that needs to run in the background at all times. I find it extremely strange that a brand new laptop with its default audio driver (and all possible updates) delivers such a  poor audio quality (despite the fact that apparently the loudspeakers can produce higher volume with another app/driver). I am not sure why is that, and if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I would be glad to to hear it.

You are looking for the wrong thing. You are running in circles because you read on some ***** posts about magical enhancement tab that will solve all problems. Whatever problems you have has nothing to do with the "missing" enhancements tab.

Enhancements tab doesn't exist any more.

This is the OLD enhancements tab.

This is the new tab which the enhancements gets 1 on/off switch.

All the individual features (EQ, Voice Cancellation, Pitch Shift, Environment) are accessed by the Realtek Audio Console app.

If you don't have these items, it means that you have a premium audio package and you have additional audio apps (like DTS or Dolby or Waves) that will give you similar features.

Hi @Joe9844! Thanks for your input. Yes, I realized myself as well couple of days ago the the Enhancement tab that I was looking for does not exist anymore, so never mind that.

And thank you, your explanation really did help. I was unaware of this DTS app (was trying to use the Realtek Audio console app) but after enabling it and adjusting the settings my audio became significantly louder, so thank you for that! It is now much better and I do not need to use this FX Sound app. Thank you, problem solved!
