My brand new Aspire 5 sounds like it's going to enter orbit when I boot up games which my older, slower and generally more decrepit laptop handled with no issues at all. Is there a way around this? It's an NVIDIA GeForce MX450.

Laptops are miniature devices, the main purpose of which is compactness. Despite the fact that the laptop is quite productive - it will warm up. Here, of course, it depends on how much it heats up and under what conditions (external). If you put the laptop on your knees or on a blanket, where the cooling slots are covered, it will warm up. If you use your laptop on a table while playing games and all the necessary openings are open and it also gets warm - this is normal for a compact device.
    But, nevertheless, do not forget:
    • Clean laptop from dust
    • Use the laptop without closing the cooling channels.
In 99% of cases, these are exactly the above problems.

Trigger the (N) key that shows Nitro Sense and have a look at the fans speeds as they must be on the "Max" fan speed setting and change the setting to "Auto" as these fans are automatically set to the appropriate fan speeds to the temp that the laptop is at. If not then you have some temp issues that you need to contact Acer as your laptop is under warranty, so don't open your laptop or do anything internally and let Acer fix this issue for you. Btw I've got a brand new Nitro 5 also and this has never happened with any new or old games andit works 100% and the laptop is kept cool with the OEM thermal system that my laptop has.
