My sister's laptop's hinges broke and cracked the lcd. I'm qualified to replace the lcd myself and was hoping I could get some help as to where to buy the replacement lcd from here in South Africa.
We live in the Eastern Cape.
The laptop is a aspire ES1-572 series.

    Hi @ KoffieInDieKan
Acer's extended warranty will also cover touchscreen failure, such as the inability of the screen to respond to touches. Also, if the screen is fading due to LCD Burnout, or the unit experiences speaker and sound failure or even low audio, the extended warranty will cover it.

With cracked hinges and screen (if the screen doesn't work and you want to replace it?) you either replace both and the bottom case (which is available on eBay here 60.GD0N2.001 Acer Lower Case Assembly For Aspire ES 15 ES1-572-357C ES1-533-C72X) as the reason the screen broke is because the hinge(s) have dislodged and have broken off from the bottom case hinge points and has caused the laptop to bend and break the screen, this cant be fixed properly unless you buy replacement parts as its best to first buy a new bottom case to do a proper job instead of just gluing it that won't last.

    1. You have two choices, either replace the bottom case and screen as the actual hinge mechanisms don't break easily (if the hinge is broken then you have to replace the LCD bracket as it contains the hinge also).
    2. The second way to fix the hinge problem is to use 'Hot Glue' which is very messy but it works very well (as hot glue can also be heated up if you ever want to open the laptop again) and glue the hinge to the bottom case with lots of glue.

With the LED screen (as there are 14 different LED screens for your ES1-572 see below) the first thing that you have to do is to look at the old OEM screens part number (which should be on a sticker on the actual screen) and replace the screen to the same part number that you have! The best and most convenient place first for LED screens for your Acer ES1-572 is to make an enquiry at your nearest Acer outlet in the Port Elizabeth area and ask them if they can get your LED screen? Or there is an excellent screen retailer (which IMO is the best) online at this site "Screen compatible with Acer ASPIRE ES1-572 SERIES" as I'm sure that they have your appropriate screen and will ship to your area. Those are the choices that you have so good luck and hope this helps you out. See below for all appropriate parts that you will need.

No warranty covers intentional (accidental) damage to the device. If you damaged the screen (well, or it was your sister), then this is not a manufacturer's defect. If the screen or sensor does not work due to your fault, there can be no guarantee.

ps In the future, you need to use authorized service centers to solve your problem.
